Welcome to another edition of Matt’s Picks of the Day. Today is Thursday, October 26th, and it was another good day for indie releases on Nintendo Switch. Let’s take a look.
|I first played Grimoire: Manastorm a few years back when it was still in Alpha. It’s a fairly cool take on the MOBA formula, boasting a first-person perspective, action combat, and six different classes of wizard. Its free-to-play launch didn’t do as well as expected, but developer Omniconnection spent the past few months finishing the game, with it finally leaving Early Access and officially launching earlier today.
Grimoire: Manastorm launched on Steam today as a free-to-play game. Wizard classes are available for $2.99 each, temporarily discounted to $2.00 for the week of release or as a bundle for $17.94, temporarily discounted to $9.00 for the week of release.
|10tons’ time-bending twin-stick shooter where you kill enemies to slow time, Time Recoil, made its way to Nintendo Switch today. The game is an interesting take on the formula seen in JYDGE and Neon Chrome, with additional kills rewarding the player with more slowdown time. Unfortunately, it’s a bit short, but it does feature a Time Attack mode with leaderboards.|
|Kitfox Games’ “co-operative personality test RPG” Moon Hunters also debuted on Nintendo Switch today. With a great pixel art aesthetic, four-player co-op, procedurally generated worlds, it seems like it would be the perfect fit on the console.|
